New grants from Hjelt foundation

Anders Rosengren and Ola Hansson from Lund University Diabetes Centre has been granted with 50.000 euro each from the Bo & Kerstin Hjelt Foundation for type 2 diabetes research.

The 2013 grant will finance Anders Rosengrens project entitled "New anti-diabetic treatments through gene network analysis" and the project led by Ola Hansson is entitled "Mechanisms whereby genetic variation in the TCF7L2 gene causes diabetes: novel targets for anti-diabetic therapy?"

The Bo & Kerstin Hjelt Foundation for type 2 diabetes research was established in 2008 and has as a long-term goal to fund research to prevent and cure type 2 diabetes.

Karim Bouzakri and Francois Jornayvaz from Geneva University also receive 50.000 respectively 22 000 euro.
