MDC - CVA

Malmö Diet and Concer Study - Cardiovascular Arm

The Malmö Diet and Cancer (MDC) Study is a population-based prospective cohort from Malmö, Sweden in which 30,000 individuals were recruited between 1991 and 1996. Eligible participants were men born between 1923 and 1945 (age range 46 to 73 years) and women born between 1923 and 1950 (age range 45 to 73 years) with Swedish reading and writing skills. From this cohort, 6103 patients were randomly selected and referred to as the MDC cardiovascular arm (MDC-CVA). These patients were reevaluated to characterize cardiovascular and metabolic risk factors.
