DISS

Diabetes Incidence Study in Sweden

The Diabetes Incidence Study in Sweden was initiated in 1983. The study is a nationwide registry of incident cases of diabetes aged 15 to 34 years. Diabetes was classified at registration by the reporting physician as T1D, T2D, gestational or unclassifiable.

The objectives of the DISS study were to follow the trends in incidence of diabetes in young adult population and find the clues to the putative etiology and pathogenesis of diabetes and its complications.
