MPP
Malmö Preventive Project
In the Malmö Preventive Project (MPP), 33,346 Swedish subjects (22,444 men and 10,902 women; mean age 49 years, 24.5% with impaired fasting glucose (IFG) and/or impaired glucose tolerance (IGT) from the city of Malmö in southern Sweden participated in a health screening during 1974-1992 (with a 71% attendance rate). Men were mostly screened in the first half of the period (1974-1982), and women in the latter half (1981-1992), implying different follow-up time periods for men and women. The aim is to screen large strata of the adult population in order to find high-risk individuals for preventive intervention.
