Resources and activities within EXODIAB
Members of EXODIAB at Lund University and Uppsala University have access to a wide network of colleagues, specialist expertise, and research infrastructure.
Some of the resources available to diabetes researchers at both universities have been established within the EXODIAB network. On this web page, we present a selection of resources available for researchers within EXODIAB at both universities.
Resources for EXODIAB researchers
EXODIAB researchers at both universities have access to a wide range of research facilities. Access to population studies, our Flow Cytometry Core Facility, bioinformatics support, and Human Tissue Laboratory are some examples of resources available to researchers within EXODIAB. Explore our facilities and specialist expertise in the Resources section of the LUDC website.
EXODIAB webinars
Our EXODIAB webinars are aimed at diabetes researchers within EXODIAB and diabetes researchers at other universities. At these webinars, diabetes researchers from both universities are invited to share their research. Join the webinars to stay up to date with research carried out within EXODIAB. Upcoming webinars are presented in the LUDC calendar.
Courses and training
Our strategic research area integrates research with education to foster innovation and develop the next generation of scientists and clinicians in diabetes research. The SRA offers structured doctoral courses within diabetes. Furthermore, EXODIAB offers a postgraduate course in diabetology every other year.

EXODIAB funding opportunities
As a member of EXODIAB at Lund University and Uppsala University, you may apply for different funding opportunities. Please contact the EXODIAB coordinator at the university where you are based to find out more.
Networking opportunities
It is especially important to meet and network with other researchers at the early stages of the career as a PhD student and diabetes scientist. The early career network at Lund University Diabetes Centre (LUDC ECN) organises events, awards grants, and works as a central hub for young diabetes and scientists and students.

Internal retreats
Diabetes researchers within EXODIAB are welcome to join the annual retreat, arranged by Lund University Diabetes Centre. The annual retreat is usually arranged during the autumn and gives researchers and staff the opportunity to meet for presentations and discussions about new research. In 2026, LUDC’s 20th Anniversary Symposium will replace the annual retreat.
