Motivation

The mechanism for how obesity, lipid disturbances and cardiovascular disease develop are still largely unknown.

Marju Orho-Melander has studied genetic factors associated with these disorders and made very important discoveries that contriubte to new insight in the pathogenesis of these diseases as well as opening new areas of research.
