Master course in Metabolic diseases

Master course in Metabolic diseases BIMM23 (7,5 credits)

This course is a master course in the Biomedical programme (Lund University) which focuses on human endocrine and metabolic disorders. The course starts with an introduction to the normal physiology of the endocrine systems and how the organs involved control overall metabolism. The following week, endocrine pathophysiology is studied from different perspectives, i.e. focusing on the different enocrine organs and their specific pathologies. In addition, genetic aspects of metabolic diseases are highlighted. The course is intended to prepare students for research and therefore an introduction to ongoing research within the area is made.
