Bioinformatician
Current project/position
Dmytro provides bioinformtics support to researchers at LUDC. He is involved in multiple research projects as well as training of LUDC staff in the selection and use of bioinformatics tools. He leads all aspects of bioinformatics pipeline development, implementation, and management, to support next-generation sequencing (NGS) analyses, including but not limited to RNA-seq, GWAS, microbiome and multi-omics.
Background
Dmytro obtained his Ph.D. from Uppsala University, where he worked on population genetics and comparative genomics of a polyploid plant species. During his post-doc, he studied diet adaptation in dogs. He has a long experience in genomic (SNP, copy-number, indels) and transcriptomc (RNA-Seq, microarray) data analyses. His interests include reproducible research, high-performance computing, and Big Data analyses. He is an expert in Linux, Python, and R.
