BEAt-DKD (Biomarker Enterprise to Attack Diabetic Kidney Disease) is a public-private partnership under the auspices of Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI), which has worked for the past seven years to improve patient stratification, to identify targetable mechanisms and pathways underlying DKD and to identify and validate biomarkers of disease progression and treatment response. The overall aim of the project has been to advance the field towards precision medicine in the management of DKD. 

The work to be presented at the symposium is the result of the collaborative effort of 33 partners from academia, industry and one patient organisation, with funding support from the European Commission, the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations, and JDRF. The project is coordinated by Lund University.
