Nordic network of metabolic researchers

A two-days seminar gathered some 70 researchers from the University of Bergen, the Institute for Molecular Medicine in Finland (FIMM) and Lund University Diabetes Centre.
- We wanted to strengthen the bonds that already exist and in the future create a Nordic network of metabolic researchers, says Ola Hansson who organized the meeting.

Kay Prüfer from Max-Planck Institute in Leipzig, Germany, was invited as key note speaker. Watch his presentation in retrospect:

The seminar titled ”Extremism can be usful” was held in March 2019.
- The main purpose was to bring researchers together to present and discuss the great science conducted in these Nordic institutions. Many personal interactions and several new collaborative projects were born during these intense days, says Ola Hansson, research group leader at Lund University Diabetes Centre.

Next meeting is planned for 2020 in Geilo, Norway.
- Hopefully there will be twice the number of participants.
