Anna Wendt, Assistant Professor

Anna Wendt is an assistant professor in Cellular Physiology at Lund University since 2017 and she is part of the Lund University Diabetes Centre (LUDC). Anna has a master degree in Biology (1998) and PhD in Physiology (2004), both from Lund University. Annas research is focused on how intrinsic and extrinsic pathways regulate hormone-secretion from the islets of Langerhans. Her main focus has been on the regulation of insulin secretion using electrophysiology and molecular biology to deduce how insulin secretion is regulated in health and disease. Lately she has taken an interest in the role of glucagon secretion in type-2 diabetes and how alpha cell identity and function is regulated by microRNAs.
