Motivation

Malin Flodström-Tullberg is awarded the 2008 DPLU/LUDC Nordic Prize for an Outstanding Young Diabetes Investigator for her groundbreaking studies on how beta-cells in the pancreatic islets react to viral infections. These responses may be both beneficial and harmful to beta-cells. Consequently, this research addresses fundamental mechanisms in pathogenesis of Type 1 Diabetes.
